چکیده
Auricularia auricula-judae is a saprobic European jelly fungus with traditional culinary and medicinal significance, often said to resemble human ear. It was originally named Tremella auricula by Linnaeus has been moved different genera since, but its specific epithet also changed from auricula to auricula-judae Bulliard in 1789, which is not normally valid nomenclatural alteration. However, due the practice of "name sanctioning" mycological code, this change accepted. This article outlines cultural history controversial name Auricularia and suggests return original auricula, as well designation an epitype specimen.

Antitumor Activity of an Acidic Heteropolysaccharide IsolatedFrom Auricularia Auricula-Judae
A water soluble acidic heteropolysaccharide named wAF was isolated from Auricularia auricula-judae. It composed of a backbone of α(1→3)-linked D-mannopyranose residues. WAF fractions exhibited strong inhibition against Acinar cell carcinoma proliferation in vitro test. It significantly inhibited tumour growth in dose-dependent way in BALB/c mice. Moreover, the enhancement ratios of mice body we...
متن کاملDevelopment of Detection Methods for Cellulolytic Activity of Auricularia auricula-judae
To obtain basic information on the detection of cellulolytic activity in Auricularia auricula-judae, the influences of dye reagent, pH, and temperature were assessed. Chromogenic dye (congo red, phenol red, remazol brilliant blue, and trypan blue) was individually incorporated into a medium containing either carboxymethyl-cellulose, Avicel, or D-cellobiose as a polysaccharide carbon substrate. ...
متن کاملAnti-inflammatory Activity of Dichloromethane Extract of Auricularia auricula-judae in RAW264.7 Cells
The present study investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of dichloromethane extract of Auricularia auricula-judae. Dichloromethane extract of Auricularia auricula-judae inhibited Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) -induced nitric oxide (NO) production significantly in a dose-dependent manner in the concentration ≥10 μg/ml (p < 0.05) . Furthermore, RT-PCR results of this study indicated that the extra...
متن کاملComparative Antitumor Activity of Different Solvent Fractions from an Auricularia auricula-judae Ethanol Extract in P388D1 and Sarcoma 180 Cells
The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare the antitumor activity of different solvent fractions (ethanol, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, butanol and water) of the Auricularia auricula-judae 70% ethanol extract on the P388D1 macrophage and sarcoma 180 cells. A dose-dependent antitumor activity of each solvent fraction (from 0.01 mg/ml to 0.3 mg/ml) was shown against both cell type...
متن کاملStructural Characterization of Melanin Pigments from Commercial Preparations of the Edible Mushroom Auricularia auricula
Many of the most widely consumed edible mushrooms are pigmented, and these have been associated with some beneficial health effects. Nevertheless, the majority of the reported compounds associated with these desirable properties are nonpigmented. We have previously reported that melanin pigment from the edible mushroom Auricularia auricula can protect mice against ionizing radiation, although n...
